About Me

So where do I start?...

Scene: 1987 - Hartford, CT (80s Baby!)

Too far back…lol…ok…fast forward to after graduating from THEE Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC with my  BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.  After graduation, like many recent grads, it was hard for me to find employment that allowed me to use my college degree.  It seemed like everyone wanted 3-5 years’ experience. Umm..Sir…this is an entry level position.

So, again like most individuals I worked in retail and became a waitress.  I didn’t want to move back home so I had to do what I had to do. A year later I decided to continue my education online with University of Phoenix, where I gained my Master’s in Accountancy.  During this time, I started working with a family business and my love for entrepreneurship was born. I started as an Admin Assistant to Human Resources Assistant (became HR Certified) to Payroll Administrator to Bookkeeper over a 5-year period.

I loved working at this business because I wore many hats and learned a tremendous amount of information on starting and growing a company in regard to office, operations and personnel.  Even though I was learning A LOT, I still wanted to use these degrees that I paid sooo much money for, so I launched my first business, completing basic bookkeeping for small businesses and entrepreneurs.

While building my first business (I also created a natural skincare line and I am a travel agent), I realized that so many people wanted to become a business owner but didn't know where to start.  After a while, I realized I was helping people start their business more than I was building my own. I mean I couldn’t charge for bookkeeping if there isn’t a business to keep the books for.

After helping friends and family members with their dreams, I decided to attend the Universal Coach Institute to become a Certified Life and Business Coach so that I learned the proper way to coach people to achieve their goals. When I hear someone wants to start a business, I would basically take control of the idea and start the company for them.  I have learned to tame my excitement and step back because you won’t appreciate something if you haven’t worked hard for it yourself.
